About moi

Hi! So, who are you?

After a successful birth in 1973, a Masters in Law in Geneva, Switzerland, a career as business controller and a few years dedicated to making children’s wishes come true via the Make-A-Wish Foundation. I now live and work in the Netherlands, together with my husband and 3 children. Since I discovered the magic world of analog collages in 2015, I divide my time between running a household and dreaming away in my own little world, being my collage room.

What is your vision on art?

To me, perspective is everything. I have always found it fascinating how a same fact or event can have a completely different meaning, depending on one's perspective. In the end, reality is relative and can be so easily influenced that it ends up not existing. I love creating my own reality using exclusively old books, magazines, glue and time. This requires patience and imagination. One aspect I love about this medium is the fact that you just have to work with the images you find, you cannot alter them. In this way, an analog collage becomes an analogy for life, you just have to work with the cards you’re dealt.

I love your work, how can I purchase something?

Well, thank you! And of course! There are 2 options. The base is always the same: my handmade, analog collages created mixing paper, glue, patience and fantasy. These unique works are for sale, check out @zarka.art on Instagram for my latest work. The second option: I can produce a made-to-measure print from those analog originals. Whatever size or material you want it printed on, consider it done. On board, paper, textile or even as wallpaper: the world is your canvas. Check out the About your empty wall-page for more information (link).

And now time for your moment to shine: Do want to show off your artist resume?

I thought you’d never ask. Over the last couple of years, I have been invited to the international collage festival Collagistas, had a solo exhibition in Singapore and started making illustrations and commissioned work. My collages have been featured in Kolaj magazine, de Grote Amsterdamse Kunstkalender 2016, have been taken in the collection of the Verbeke foundation, have been featured in the Fall/Winter 2022 gallery show of Sharp Hands. Since June 2017 I am a member of @thecollageclub on Instagram. In January 2023 I will have a solo exhibition in Galerie De Stoker in Amsterdam. And proud of it.
